Where is my direct deposit?
Where is my direct deposit?
Updated over a week ago

Envelope money will post your Direct Deposit fund as soon as our bank partners receive them from your employer or your benefits provider. The timing of your deposit depends on when the sender initiates the payment to your Envelope Money account. Deposits post Monday-to-Friday throughout the day. If you do not see your direct deposit in your account, it means that we haven't received and processed it yet.

How does direct deposit work?

Our bank partners always process and post a deposit. If you have enabled transaction notifications in the Envelope Money mobile app, we'll notify you immediately the moment your funds reach your account.

If your expected direct deposit isn’t in your account yet, you can contact your employer (or provider) to confirm the time and date that it was sent. When a direct deposit is initiated by your employer or benefits provider, we do not receive the direct deposit instantly. It goes through several steps of processing before arriving at our bank parters. These steps are mandatory, and Envelope Money does not have insight to where your direct deposit may be in this process until it arrives at our bank partners and we post it to your account.

My direct deposit stopped arriving. What should I do?

Rarely, direct deposits can fail due to technical issues. If you were expecting a direct deposit but it didn't arrive, contact your employer or payroll provider and make sure they have the correct routing and account numbers for your Envelope Money Checking Account. You can find these in the Envelope Money app.

How do bank holidays affect direct deposits?

Envelope Money observes all federal and banking holidays. On these days, our banking partners cannot process deposits, which may delay the arrival of your direct deposit until the next business day.

Deposits made on the bank holiday may not post until two business days after the holiday.
