Envelope charges a $5 a month fee to offer comprehensive envelope budgeting combined with a full banking suite. We think you'll love using your Envelope card for all your expenses and won't charge you the monthly fee if you spend at least $500/mo with your card.

As a program, we have many fees that are costly to support including ACH sends, ATM access, mobile check deposit, card issuance, background checks, compliance, and customer support. Envelope primarily makes money through monthly account fees and interchange revenue-- a percentage of every card transaction that Visa charges merchants. Our pricing is specifically designed to encourage financial minimalism and true envelope style budgeting. Unfortunately, we cannot sustainably support users who intend to leverage Envelope partially or alongside external credit cards without charging a monthly fee. This hybrid revenue model allows us to offer the best experience for our users in a sustainable way.
